Grateful for the Room I'm In (And the People In It)
Dec 22, 2025
Living rooms. Dining room tables. Spaces where conversations slow down, and the people around us matter a little more than usual.
As I've moved through this season, I've found myself thinking less about what I'm building and more about who's been walking alongside me while I build it.
Some of those people are family. Some are fellow entrepreneurs, both those just getting started and those a few steps ahead. And some are the quiet, steady communities that show up week after week, simply because they believe in helping others move forward.
I'm deeply grateful for the local entrepreneurial rooms I've been part of this year, and for the people in them who've become like family. Places like the Entrepreneurship Collaborative Center, the Small Business Development Center, and 1 Million Cups. Not just organizations, but real rooms where ideas are spoken out loud, doubts are normalized, and progress feels possible.
You Were Never Meant to Do This Alone
One thing has become clear to me this year:
Even if you're building something online... Even if you consider yourself a solopreneur... You were never meant to do this completely alone.
There's something about being around other people (especially in person) that makes a business feel more grounded. More legitimate. More real. It reminds you that what you're building exists to serve.
And if you don't have that kind of room yet, I want to offer a little permission this season:
You're not behind. You're not weak for wanting support. You're not asking for too much.
Finding your people isn't a distraction from the work. It is part of the work.
That room might be local. It might be online. You might have to build it yourself.
But it matters.
As this year winds down, I'm carrying a lot of gratitude with me, and a lot of hope for what the next year can bring when we choose not to walk alone.
So I'll leave you with this:
Who's been walking alongside you this year? And who do you want to step alongside in the coming year?
